Nazuki
Sweet Georgian spice bread with raisins, cinnamon and cloves, warm from the oven
Sugar flavoured with real vanilla or with vanillin, usually sold in small sachets of about 8 g.
In German-speaking countries vanilla sugar sits with the baking supplies in every supermarket, while in English-speaking countries it is more likely found in Eastern European or German shops, well-stocked grocers or online. If you want real vanilla, look for sugar made with vanilla beans, since plain vanillin sugar tastes flatter.
One sachet can be replaced with about 8 g of sugar plus half a teaspoon of vanilla extract; this adds a little liquid, which makes no difference in doughs or creams. Alternatively, leave a scraped vanilla pod in a jar of sugar for a few days.
